Please be patient the MIPC programmers are working hard to automate a FREE solution for people to generate and apply their letter of intent to Salemi council from the http://www.mipc.co.uk website. I will email everyone who has registered here or at http://www.mipc.co.uk when this goes live. MIPC decided this was easier than a private forum.

Dave,

I just submitted a Letter of Request via your website. However, my italian is limited and i noticed that the letter didn't state any thing about my plans for renovation. Where do I submit a plan or idea for renovation, if my letter of rerequest already went through your site?

Thanks,
Nadine

MIPC : To personalise applications you must use the MIPC SAlemi Premium Service pack. This also applies to joint ownership and company applications.

david,
If you get a house, do you have to renovate it all in the first two years or can you do a minimum and then do the rest on your own schedule?

What is the range for square footage for the houses?

I don't qualify as affluent so I am afraid this offer is for people who have $400k - 500k to spend. Am I correct?

thanks
james

MIPC : The general outline at this stage is YES it should be renovated within 2 years.
Houses range from 25sqm to large historic buildings.
Restoration costs are in the region of 900-1200 Euro /sqm.
Per square metre is the true way to calculate costs. 1 sqm = 10.764 sq ft : 1EUro=1.42 U$D so that is U$D 119 - 158 per square foot

I am Preparing to submit my Premium package for the letter of intent and begin the process of hopefully aquiring one of the availible properties. Knowing that under normal situations, non- Italian citizens are not allowed to own property unless they are married to or partnered in a business with an Italian citizen. Even then ownership is limited to a lesser percentage. Is the Italian government making exceptions regarding the freehold properties in Salemi and allowing foriegners to hold a 100% ownership in exchange for the renovation investment agreement. If not, what is the arrangement?

Thanks,

Kelly

MIPC : Kelly i do not know where you heard this from??. I have advised non italian citizens over many years whom have successfully bought and taken freehold ownership of a property in Italy.

Hello,

According to the mayor's office, they will have information available as well as application documents ready in two months (in English as well). Given that, can you explain what the purpose of the Letter of Intent is? It seems that the Salemi concil is quite a while away from formally opening the application process.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi David

Just want to know if you will lose your property if you do not finish it in the allocated timeframe?
What type of guarantee are there for people renovating the properties?
Are we getting residency and would therefore be able to work and run businesses in Salemi?
Also, what about the fact that the council said that the applications won't be ready for another 2 months?
How active are the mafia still in Sicily?
Is it just the outside that would be renovated according to original style and can the inside be modern?
Will there be a body regulating the costs of the local artisans because they can essentially charge what they want to and we have to use them (no choice in the matter)?

Thanks
